Deactivated Russian RPD 7.62 cal m44 light machine gun SOLD

This is the Russian designed and developed RPD light machine gun. Manufactured at the State Ordnance Factory, this weapon was intended for 'hand-held' use ( as the initials RPD translate to in russian) but also comes equipped  with collapsible bi-pod. Chambered for the 7.62 x 39mm ( AK47) round, it was conceived in 1943 and produced from 1944, hence the model 44. It saw limited use during WW2 but its production carried on until the 1960s, when it was superceeded by the RPK. It does however continue to be used to this day by some African and Asian nations, bearing testimony to its good design. This particular example is in very good authentic condition with excellent metal work, undamaged woodwork and all matching serial numbers. An inexpensive machine-gun from the WW2 and Cold War era that cocks and dry fires and can be field stripped, and comes with perfect condition drum magazine. Deactivated in the UK with Certificate to UK specification.

Our Price: £375.00
