Deactivated Russian DP-28 7.62mm machine-gun 1944 dated **SOLD**

This is the Russian built DP-28 light machine gun, designed in 1927 and introduced to Soviet forces in 1928, hence the designation. Designed by Vasily Degtyaryov, it was a development of his DP-26, and was a very robust and reliable weapon, chambering the common 7.62 x 54mm rimmed cartridge via a 47-round pan magazine. Herein lay it's main weakness, as the pans were difficult to load, heavy and cumbersome, but this weapon still continued in service right up till the 1960s, being supplimented in the 1950s by the more modern RPD machine-gun. This example is in excellent condition, with near perfect bluing and unmarked butt-stock, dated 1944 on the breech. Detachable magazine and bi-pod, it can be cocked and dry-fired, is fully field strippable, and comes with 3 inert 7.62mm cartridges. Deactivated in the UK with Certificate to UK specification.
