This is a Russian Baikal 12-bore shotgun, named after the Baikal Forest in Siberia. Manufactured at Izhevsk in the Urals, renowned for making millions of Mosin rifles and other arms during WW2, the Baikal is a rugged and reliable shotgun, absolutely typical of the weaponry associated with the Soviet Union. This particular example, the  IJ-12, is of over-and-under design, and in excellent condition with very good hardwood stock, and nicely engraved blacked action showing hunting scenes. Marked 'Made in USSR' on the action sides with the Russian characters for IJ-12 on the underside. Cocks and dry-fires on both barrels with a precise action and comes with two inert 12g cartridges. Deactivated in the UK to UK/EU specification with Proof House certificate.
