Deactivated Russian SVT-40 semi-automatic rifle 1941 dated, FLP.Mi marked, German capture

This is the semi-automatic self loading rifle that equipped Russian troops during WW2. First developed in 1938 by Fedsor Tokarev and designated the SVT-38, it was used during the invasion of Finland, but was not the perfect weapon. After refinements were made to it in 1940 it was redesignated the SVT-40, and in 1942 a fully automatic version was introduced and designated the AVT-40. Dated 1941 on the receiver and stamped with the Tula Armoury mark, this rifle comes complete with sling and detachable magazine, with fully moving trigger and functional safety. This example is in very good condition, all matching serial numbers except magazine, with excellent blued steel and lovely woodwork. Some stripping is possible around the breech cover and gas blow-back, and the action can be completely removed from the stock if desired. A couple of inert 7.62mm calibre cartridges are included to 'complete' this vintage weapon. Of interest is the mark F.L.P.Mi on the breach side. Research shows this is a German capture mark attributed to the Feldluftpark, Minsk, which was a Luftwaffe aircraft repair centre in Minsk. Deactivated in the UK with proofhouse certificate of deactivation.
