Deactivated replica Colt Dragoon M1848 black-powder pistol, early spec

This is a deactivated working replica of the 3rd pattern Model 1848 .44 calibre Colt Dragoon black powder pistol with 7 1/2" barrel. The 3rd pattern was produced from 1851 through till 1860 when it was replaced by the Model 1860. Designed by Samuel Colt for the US army, it addressed the shortcomings of the earlier Colt Walker. This example is in very good condition, with lovely patina of age to the brass action. Able to half-cock, cock and dry-fire with a very precise single action and partially strip. Deactivated in the UK with Proof House certificate of deactivation.
