This is the Shpagin Machine Pistol, or PPSh-41, dated 1951, and in very good condition. With matching serial numbers, this smg has a sliding cocking handle that can be locked back, and also moving trigger. The PPSh-41 was one of the most mass produced submachine guns of WW2, and was also very popular with German forces, who used captured weapons. After WW2 it continued to be manufactured under licence by various countries, amongst them communist Bulgaria, of which this is one. This example is identical to the wartime Russian weapon and has excellent blacking and very good woodwork with only minor marks, and comes complete with leather sling. Designed to chamber the 7.62 x 25mm round, some of these are shown to illustrate how the 71-round magazine can be loaded to 'complete' this classic weapon. These rounds are not included with the gun, but are available separately in the 'Inert Ammunition' section. Deactivated to current specification, it has a removeable drum magazine, and the action can be 'broken' and hinged down, so a certain amount of stripping can still be done.
