Deactivated Portuguese Mauser M937-A rifle, matched s/numbers, early spec, Nazi marked
This is the Portuguese Model 937-A 'short' rifle, which was adopted to replace the Model 1904 Mauser-Vergueiro rifle in 1937, built at the Mauser-Werke, Oberndorf. This rifle is very similar to the German K98k, and this particular example is in very original condition, with lovely hardwood stock with clear Waffenamt stamps on the butt, most of the original blacked finish to the steel, with many clear Nazi eagle and Waffenamt stamps and matching serial numbers to receiver, barrel, bolt and rearsights. The stock, barrelbands and buttplate all match, so it appears that the complete action has been put into a different stock. Able to cock and dry fire and fully strip, this rifle comes complete with original cleaning rod, inert rounds are not included. Deactivated in the UK with proofhouse certificate of deactivation.
