Deactivated World War 2 rifles.
This is the Portuguese Model 1904/39 'short' rifle, which was a conversion made to the Model 1904 Mauser-Vergueiro 'long' WW1 era rifle, to make it conform more with the modern Mausers of the 1930s. This envolved conversion from 6.5mm calibre to the German 7.92mm calibre, a shortening of the barrel and forestock and sights modifications. The markings on the receiver did not change. This particular example is in super original condition, with lovely hardwood stock and very good original blacked finish to the steel, and matching serial numbers to receiver, bolt and trigger guard/floorplate and stock. Able to cock and dry fire and fully strip, this rifle comes complete with original cleaning rod and also original leather sling. Deactivated in the UK with proofhouse certificate of deactivation.
