Deactivated P. Webley & Son 12-bore boxlock shotgun **SOLD**
This is a 12-bore double-barrelled boxlock action shotgun of side-by-side construction made by Philip Webley of Birmingham, where he started trading in 1834 under this name before joining with Scott in 1897, to form Webley & Scott. Marked faintly between the 30 inch damascus steel barrels, this gun appears to have been made for A.P. Walshe of Johannesburg. This Victorian-era example is in very good condition, with very nice cross-hatched hardwood rear and forestock. The delicately engraved metalwork retains a lovely patina. This shotgun breaks, cocks and dry-fires with a very precise action, with functional safety, and can be fully stripped. Two inert cartridges are included, with more available separately in the 'Inert Ammunition' section at £1.50 each. Deactivated in the UK with Certificate to UK/EU specification.
