Deactivated Mosin-Nagant M1891/30 'Octo' 1929 dated Russian infantry rifle with bayonet SOLD

The standard infantry rifle of the Red Army during WW2. This Mosin-Nagant M1891/30  is dated 1929 on the receiver, and comes with correct sling, cruciform bayonet and cleaning rod.  The 1891 relates to it's first production date, and the 30 relates to its final modification date of 1930, when amongst other things, the octagonal breech was redesigned. This example is a Russian Armoury refurbished rifle, and quite probably saw action in the defence of the Motherland!  It is unusual in that it is a M1891 that has been upgrade to /30 specification, armoury overhauled and put into storage after WW2. It also has the characteristic early stock with screwed on sling slot plates. All matching stamped (not etched) serial numbers on the various components. In very good original condition with only the odd mark in the lacquer on the solid wooden stock from storage, and excellent blacking. Marked with the Izhevsk Arsenal stamp, Hammer & Sickle symbol and date of 1929 on the receiver. Cocks, dry fires and fully field-strippable including bolt. Inert rounds are not included but are available at £1.50 each in the 'Inert Ammunition' section, post free if ordered together. Deactivated in the UK with Certificate to UK specification.
