Deactivated Mosin-Nagant M1891/30 1942 dated Russian infantry rifle c/w bayonet **SOLD**
The standard infantry rifle of the Red Army during WW2. This Mosin-Nagant model 1891/30 is dated 1942 on the receiver with Izhevsk Arsenal stamp and Hammer & Sickle symbol. Comes complete with correct sling, cleaning rod and cruciform bayonet (that fits properly!) The 1891 relates to it's first production date, and the 30 relates to its final major modification date of 1930. In 1938 it was supplemented with a similar shortened carbine model, designated the M38, but production continued on into 1944. This example is in good sound condition and is unrestored. Very good polished hardwood stock with beautiful grain and matching very nicely, and just a few marks from use and superb armoury repairs. Lovely 'used' patina to the steel, minor signs of corrosion. This rifle cocks dry fires with a crisp action, and is fully strippable. A rifle with the 'been in the front-line' look! Inert rounds shown are not included, but are available in the 'Inert Ammunition' section. Deactivated in the UK with Certificate to UK specification.
