This was the standard infantry rifle of the Red Army during WW2, this Mosin-Nagant M1891. This example is the 'Dragoon' model, dated 1929 on the octagonal receiver behind the old style Tula armoury stamp, and with characteristic Konovalov rear sights. It comes with correct sling, cruciform bayonet and cleaning rod. The 1891 relates to it's first production date, and this is one of the last before the final modification date of 1930, when amongst other things, the octagonal breech was redesigned and the rear sights were simplified. This example is a Russian Armoury refurbished rifle, and quite probably saw action in the defence of the Motherland! It is unusual in that it is has not been upgraded to /30 specification. It also has the earlier stock with screwed on sling slot plates. Matching serial number to breech and trigger guard. In very good original condition with unusual light coloured wooden stock, and excellent blacking. Cocks, dry fires and fully field-strippable including bolt. Inert rounds are not included but are available at £1.50 each in the 'Inert Ammunition' section, post free if ordered together. Deactivated in the UK with Certificate to UK specification.
