Deactivated Mauser Kar98a German infantry carbine, 1916 dated Erfurt made **SOLD**

This is the Kar98a carbine, a shortened version of the standard infantry rifle of the German Army during WW1, the iconic Mauser Gewehr 98, chambering the same 7.92 x 57mm cartridge. It was introduced in this form in 1908, after disappointing performance from the Kar98 of 1902, and was produced at all the state arsenals, with production ceasing in 1918. This particular example is in lovely authentic condition with super woodwork, though some signs of water staining on the butt, which also bears Imperial crown stamps, and matching serial number to breech. Also matching numbers to both barrel band, sights, trigger guard and floorplate. The bolt sadly does not match, but all bolt components have the same serial. Good steel retaining a lot of it's original finish, marked Erfurt and dated 1916 on the receiver, with various imperial acceptance stamps. The 7.92mm inert rounds are not included, but are available separately in the Inert Ammunition section at £1.50 each, post free if ordered with the rifle. Deactivated in the UK with proofhouse certificate to full UK specification.

Our Price: £595.00

All deactivated weapons sold by Jaybe Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold a London or Birmingham proof mark and certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly and is legal within the U.K.
