Deactivated Mauser K98 infantry rifle 1941 dated, in sniper-type stock **SOLD**

This is the standard german infantry rifle of WW2, full name the Mauser 'Karabiner 98 kurz', or K98k,(karabiner meaning carbine and kurz meaning short) having a shorter barrel than the earlier 'Gewehr 98'.  Dated 1941 on the receiver with manufacturer code 'bcd'  for Gustloff-Werke, Weimar, this rifle is in very clean condition. Good laminated stock, with very good bluing to the steel with many clear Nazi eagles and Waffenamt stamps around the breech area, and more Waffenamt stamps on the various steel parts.  A 'Russian-capture' example, this is one of the many rifles taken from captured German troops and overhauled and put into storage after WW2, and it appears to have been assembled into a purpose built late-war sniper stock.  The stock has no bayonet lug, and has no cutout for the band spring, so cannot be a modified standard stock.  This rifle can be cocked and dry fired, and is fully strippable. The inert cartridges are not included with this rifle, but  are available in the 'Inert Ammunition' section at £1.50 each. Deactivated in the UK with Certificate to UK specification.
