This is the standard german infantry rifle of WW2, full name the Mauser 'Karabiner 98 kurz', or K98k,(karabiner meaning carbine and kurz meaning short) having a shorter barrel than the earlier 'Gewehr 98'   that was developed in 1898.  This rifle is marked 'bnz' for the Steyr-Daimler-Puch AG factory in Steyr, with a date of 44 on the receiver and is in very good condition, being one of the many weapons captured by the Russians during WW2 and put into storage. Also marked Mod. 98 on the left side of the receiver with several good clear Nazi eagles and Waffenamp stamps round the breech area and on the bolt. Laminated stock in very good condition too, with good Waffenamt and 'Heer' (Army) stamp on the butt. Comes complete with sling, cleaning rod and sights hood.  Cocks and dry fires, and fully strippable.  A super clean rifle, perfect for a re-inactor who wants a 'new' looking weapon. One clip of inert cartridges is also included with this rifle, with more available in the 'Inert Ammunition' section at £1.50 each. Deactivated in the UK with Certificate to UK specification.
