Deactivated Martini-Henry mk II rifle, 1885 dated **SOLD**

This is a Martini-Henry mk II .450/577" calibre rifle, produced from 1877 till 1889. This particular example was made at the Enfield factory in 1885, as marked on the breech side under the Victoria crown. There are broad arrows and WD War Department inspection stamps in various places signifying British military use, and 59 marked on the butt which happens to be the last 2 digits of the serial number. Very good undamaged furniture with period repairs, and good steel with most of it's original finish. A good used and complete example of this widely used Victorian-era rifle. Cocks and dry-fires, and able to be stripped, this rifle comes with an original cleaning rod and webbing sling. This rifle is of obsolete calibre, so did not need to be deactivated, so does not need to hold any certificate of deactivation, EU or otherwise,  though does in fact hold a UK certificate that will accompany it.
