Deactivated M1 Garand self-loading rifle, Springfield made, sliding cocking handle **SOLD**

The M1 Garand was the standard infantry rifle of the US Army during WW2, and the first semi-automated rifle to be issued by the US military. Introduced before WW2 to replace the Springfield M1903 bolt-action rifle, and chambering the same .30 calibre round though in an 8-round clip, it continued in service right up into the Vietnam War. Made by the Springfield Armoury, this is a post-war weapon as the serial number is in the 5xxx xxx range and the barrel is dated 3 55, though it is nearly identical to the wartime produced guns. As a late spec deactivation this rifle will not cock and dry-fire, but does have the advantage of a sliding and locking cocking handle, moving trigger, and functional safety. Good woodwork with just the odd marks from its service use, and a nice patina to the steel, it comes complete with good quality repro sling, though the inert rounds are not included. Deactivated in the UK with Certificate to UK/EU specification.

Our Price: £850.00

All deactivated weapons sold by Jaybe Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold a London or Birmingham proof mark and certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly and is legal within the EU.
