Deactivated Luger P08 Erfurt made pistol and holster set, dated 1917, early spec

This is the world famous 9mm caliber Luger P08 semi-automatic pistol, designed and patented by Georg J.Luger in 1898. This particular example was made at the Imperial Arsenal of Erfurt in 1917 and is in very good condition with excellent bluing. All serial numbers on the slide/barrel match, and all numbers on the frame match. It was not uncommon for armourers to swap out complete slide assemblies to repair a gun, rather than change a small part. This gun comes complete with original undamaged 1916 dated holster, spare magazine and strip-down tool, and some provenance. The gun was discovered live by the family and deactivated under police supervision. It was taken as a war trophy, and the British officer's name of Lloyd is stenciled in the holster. Good clear imperial acceptance markings on the frame, and 378 3/22 stamped on grip strap. If this is a factory rework date, it implies it was a WW2 trophy. This gun is a lovely original example of this much sought-after pistol.  Able to cock, dry fire and fully strip, it comes with 3 inert 9mm rounds to load into the spare magazine. Deactivated in the UK with Certificate to UK specification.
