| This is the standard infantry rifle of the British Army and the forces of it's Empire during WW1, the Lee-Enfield rifle no1 mark 3*, made at the Enfield factory. The butt socket is clearly stamped with the Royal Cypher of George V, indicating military issue, the maker Enfield, date of 1918, and the model SHT.L.E. III*. This rifle has all genuine furniture in lovely complete and authentic condition, although the rear-most upper handguard looks to have been replaced (these were prone to splitting), with brass butt-disc. The metalwork is also in excellent condition, retains nearly all of it's original blued finish, and of most importance has all matching serial numbers to forestock, breech, barrel, bolt, rearsights and nose-cap making this a truly authentic example of this iconic rifle perfect for the reinactor or collector alike. Generally known as the SMLE mk3, this rifle cocks and dry-fires, has a detachable magazine and comes complete with correct brass-ended webbing sling. Five inert .303 rounds are included with more available seperately in the 'Inert Ammunition' section at £1.50 each. Deactivated in the UK with Certificate to UK specification. Our price: £525.00 All deactivated weapons sold by Jaybe Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold a London or Birmingham proof mark and certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly and is legal within the U.K. |
