This is the standard infantry rifle of the British Army and the forces of it's Empire during WW1, the  Lee-Enfield rifle no1 mark 3*, made at the BSA Co. factory. The butt socket is clearly stamped with the Royal Cypher of George V, indicating military issue, the maker BSA Co. date of 1917, and the model SHT.L.E. III*.  The furniture is in very good condition with the forestock, handguards and butt being authentic stamped replacement parts, and the steelwork has been reblacked. BSA 'piled arms' log on barrel, which has matching serial number to the breech. A very clean refurbished example of this iconic rifle perfect for the reinactor or collector alike. Generally known as the SMLE mk3, this rifle cocks and dry-fires, has a detachable magazine and comes complete with correct  khaki brass-ended  webbing sling. The inert .303 rounds are not included but are available seperately in the 'Inert Ammunition' section at £1.50 each. Deactivated in the UK with Certificate to UK specification.
