This is the standard infantry rifle of the British Army and it's colonial allies during WW1, the Lee-Enfield rifle no1 mark 3*, made at the BSA Co. factory and dated 1918 under the Royal Cypher of King George V, clearly stamped on the butt socket. In very good authentic condition, with all original furniture, complete and undamaged, with just a few minor knocks as would be expected of a service weapon. Very good original finish to steel, with matching serial numbers to breech, barrel (also 1945 dated, so replaced during WW2), rear sights, nose-cap and forestock. Generally known as the SMLE, this rifle is fully strippable, cocks and dry-fires, and has a detachable magazine and correct webbing sling. A very nice original unmessed with rifle. Five rounds of inert .303 ammunition are included, with more available separately in the 'Inert ammunition' section at £1.50 per round, post free when ordered with rifle. Deactivated in the UK with Certificate to UK specification.
