Deactivated Lee-Enfield SMLE no1 mk3 BSA Co. made 1918 dated with mag cut-off **SOLD**

This is the standard infantry rifle of the British Army during WW1, the  Lee-Enfield rifle no1 mark 3*, made at the BSA Co. factory and dated 1918 under the Royal Cypher of King George V. In excellent authentic condition, with lovely complete, matching and original undamaged woodwork, carrying the Enfield factory stamps and imperial inspection stamps, with only very minor knocks that  you'd expect after 90-plus years, and super blued steel without any corrosion. Generally known as the SMLE, this rifle is fully strippable, cocks and dry-fires, and has a  detachable magazine and correct webbing sling. It features the magazine cut-off device and an unmarked brass butt-disc, usually deleted post-1915, with matching serial numbers to breech, barrel, and nose-cap.  Five rounds of inert .303 ammunition is included, with more available separately in the 'Inert ammunition' section at £1.50 per round, post free when ordered with rifle.  Deactivated in the UK with Certificate to UK specification.
