Deactivated Lee-Enfield SMLE Mk3* rifle Enfield made, 1918 dated, matching s/numbers **ON HOLD**

This is the standard infantry rifle of the British Army and the forces of it's Empire during WW1, the  Lee-Enfield rifle no1 mark3, made at the Enfield factory and generally known as the SMLE. The butt socket is clearly stamped with the Royal Cypher of George V, indicating military issue, the maker Enfield, date of 1918, and the model SHT.L.E. III*. (The III* being a mid/late war variant of the mkIII which incorporated time saving modifications to increase production).  The furniture is in very good condition, having just the odd knocks you'd expect, complete and undamaged and matching very well, with brass butt-disc marked 1.R1. The steelwork is also in very good condition, retaining nearly all of it's original blacked finish. Matching serial numbers to breech and barrel (also 1918 dated), nose-cap, rearsights and forestock. An authentic example of this iconic rifle perfect for the reinactor or collector alike, this rifle has moving trigger and bolt but will not dry-fire, is strippable with a detachable magazine and comes with an original webbing sling and a full clip of inert .303 rounds.  Deactivated in the UK with Certificate to UK/EU specification.
