Deactivated Lee-Enfield SMLE Mk3* rifle 1919 dated Ishapore made **SOLD**

This is the standard infantry rifle of the British and Commonwealth forces during WW1, the  Lee-Enfield rifle no1 mark 3*, made at the Ishapore factory in India. The butt socket carries the Royal Cypher of George V, indicating issue to HM Forces, with the date of 1919, Ishapore, then model SHT L.E III*.  The original dark wood furniture is in lovely condition, complete and fitting well and matching in colour, with barely a mark considering it's a near-100 year old rifle, with original brass butt-plate. The steel retains most of the original blued finish, with Indian acceptance marks on the breech and barrel, which both have matching serial numbers along with the rearsights. Of interest is the brass butt disc which has been replaced with a 1918 dated half-penny. This rifle cocks and dry-fires, can be fully field stripped, has a detachable magazine and comes complete with period  brass-ended webbing sling. The inert .303 rounds shown are not included but are available separately in the 'Inert Ammunition' section at £1.50 each. Deactivated in the UK with certificate to UK specification.

 Our price: £395.00

All deactivated weapons sold by Jaybe Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold a London or Birmingham proof mark and certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly and is legal within the U.K.
