This is the standard infantry rifle of the British Army and British Empire and Commonwealth armies during WW1 and beginning of WW2, the Lee-Enfield rifle no1 mark 3*. This is a Lithgow, Australia, made example, marked 'MA Lithgow', a date of 1944, and SHT. LE 111* on the butt socket. In super original condition despite it's 70 years of age, the finish on the steelwork is very good, with only negligable marks, and many Lithgow 'MA' stamps, plus other Australian component manufacturer stamps like BA, WA and OA. Full matching serial numbers to breech, bolt and nose-cap. The barrel and rearsights are not serial numbered, but Australian marked and wartime dated. Excellent complete and authentic Slazenger marked and wartime dated furniture with original OA marked brass butt-plate. This rifle can be cocked, dry-fired, and field stripped and has a detachable 10-round magazine. Comes complete with brass-ended webbing sling. A perfect rifle the the collector or reinactor who wants a clean and new looking weapon. The inert .303 caliber cartridges shown are not included but are available in the 'Inert Ammunition' section at only £1.50 each, supplied post free if ordered together with the rifle. Deactivated in the UK with Certificate to UK specification.
