Deactivated Lee-Enfield SMLE mk3 BSA Co made dated 1939 with magazine cut-off **SOLD**

This is the standard infantry rifle of the British Army during WW1 and the beginning of WW2, the  Lee-Enfield rifle no1 mark 3, made at the BSA factory in Britain. The butt socket is marked with the Royal Cypher of George V,  B.S.A. Co. followed by the date of 1939 and SHT. LE III. The BSA 'piled arms' logo is visible on the breech end of the barrel and also bolt handle. This rifle has had full replacement genuine Enfield furniture which is in very good condition, and displays the BSA dispersal code and broad-arrow marks on the forestock, and makers marks on the butt.  Matching serial numbers to breech, barrel and rear sights. The metalwork still retains some of it's original blued finish. Of interest is the magazine cut-off feature, which was deleted after 1915 on WW1 weapons to speed up production, but reintroduced after that war.  Generally known as the SMLE mk3, this rifle cocks and dry-fires, has a detachable magazine and comes complete with brass-ended webbing sling. The inert .303 rounds shown are not included but are available seperately in the 'Inert Ammunition' section at £1.50 each. Deactivated in the UK with Certificate to UK specification.

Our price: £395.00

All deactivated weapons sold by Jaybe Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold a London or Birmingham proof mark and certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly and is legal within the U.K.
