Deactivated Lee-Enfield SMLE mk3 BSA Co. 1916, Canadian marked, matched numbers **SOLD**

This is the standard infantry rifle of the British Army and the forces of it's Empire during WW1, the  Lee-Enfield rifle no1 mark 3*, made at the BSA Co. factory. The butt socket is clearly stamped with the Royal Cypher of George V, indicating military issue, the maker BSA, date of 1916, and the model SHT.L.E. III.  The furniture is in very good original condition, and the butt is stamped with the Canadian inspection stamp, as is the barrel and a date of '42, no serial number. The steelwork is also in very good condition, retaining nearly all of it's original blued finish, and has matching serial numbers to breech, bolt, nosecap and forestock. An authentic example of this iconic rifle perfect for the reinactor or collector alike, with a lot of history that clearly served in both World Wars. Generally known as the SMLE, this rifle cocks and dry-fires, has a detachable magazine and comes complete with brass-ended  webbing sling. Five inert .303 rounds are included with more available seperately in the 'Inert Ammunition' section at £1.50 each. Deactivated in the UK with Certificate to UK specification.

Our price: £525.00
