This is a British-built Lee-Enfield rifle no.4 mk1 in very good authentic condition, stamped with M for the Royal Ordnance Factory Maltby, and a date of 1944 on the butt socket, which is consistent with the serial number. Stamped No4 Mk1 on the right side of the breech, it is also lightly etched with No4 Mk1/2 (F) FTR 50, indicating a conversion to mk2 spec at ROF Fazakerly in 1950, which shows it remained in service well after WW2. This example has super authentic furniture in excellent condition, with brass butt-plate and nearly all the original blacked finish to the steel, and more importantly matched serial number to the bolt. Fitted with the mk2 ladder rear sights, and detachable 10 round magazine, this rifle cocks, dry-fires and is fully strippable, and comes complete with webbing sling. The inert .303 rounds are not included, but are available in the 'Inert Ammunition' section at £1.50 per round, (all extras post free if ordered with the rifle). No4 'spike' bayonets also available from £15. Deactivated with certificate in the UK to UK specification.
