Deactivated Lee-Enfield no5 mk1 Jungle Carbine dated 1945, all matched serial numbers **SOLD**

This is the last of the line of .303 caliber bolt action rifles from Lee-Enfield to be issued to British forces, the Rifle no5 mk1, also known as the Jungle Carbine, due to it being specifically designed for the war in the Far East and Burma. Production began in March 1944, and finished in December 1947.  Dated 6/45 on the breech, and ROF/F for the Ordnance Factory at Fazakerley in Lancashire, the serial number is consistant with this information. A genuine No5, and of particular importance, has matching serial numbers to the forestock, bolt, breech and even the magazine, with the correct 800yd rear-sights and  fluted barrel. Very good hardwood furniture, and good sound steel with most of the original finish. The bayonet lug has been removed as was quite common on these carbines. Comes complete with correct period webbing sling in jungle green. Cocks and dry fires, with detachable 10-round magazine.  Inert .303 rounds are not included but are available in the 'Inert Ammunition' section at £1.50 each, post free if ordered with the rifle. Deactivated in the UK with Certificate to UK specification.

 Our Price £625.00

All deactivated weapons sold by Jaybe Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold a London or Birmingham proof mark and certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly and is legal within the U.K.
