Deactivated Lee-Enfield No5 mk1 British built 1945 dated, matching s/numbers **SOLD**

This is the last of the line of .303 caliber bolt action rifles from Lee-Enfield to be issued to British forces, the Rifle no5 mk1, also known as the Jungle Carbine, due to it being specifically designed for the war in the Far East and Burma. Production began in March 1944, and finished in December 1947.  Manufactured at ROF Fazakerley, in Lancashire, this rifle is a genuine No5 with all the correct features, marked No5 MK1 ROF(F) 9/45 followed by the serial number. In superb condition, with lightly polished faultless hardwood furniture, and excellent blacking to metalwork with matching serial number to breech and bolt. Comes complete with postwar green jungle webbing sling. Cocks and dry fires, with detachable 10-round magazine and a couple of inert .303 rounds. More inert cartridges are available at £1.50 each in the 'Inert Ammunition' section. A superb example of this rifle that would be very hard to better. Deactivated in the UK with Certificate to UK/EU specification.

 Our Price £695.00
