This is a deactivated British-built Lee-Enfield rifle no.4 mk1/3 made at the Royal Ordnance Factory at Fazakerley in Lancashire. This mk1 was a post-WW2 manufactured weapon, brought up to mk2 specification and redesignated mk1/3, and was perhaps the pinacle of bolt-action rifle technology in an era of automatic weapons. Marked FTR 1954 (Factory Thorough Repair) on the breech side, and 1955 on the buttsocket, this rifle is a Fazakerley late 1940s post-war manufactured rifle (identifiable from serial number), in super original condition with excellent woodwork with beautiful grain, and near perfect blacking. Matching serial numbers to breech, bolt and forestock (only partially visible on forestock), this example has a brass butt plate and detachable magazine, and comes complete with webbing sling and clip of wartime dated .303 inert rounds. Fitted with the desirable higher quality mk1 ladder sight, this rifle can be cocked, dry-fired and fully field stripped. Ideal for post-war National Serviceman! Deactivated with certificate in the UK to UK specification.
Our price: £395.00
