This is a British-built Lee-Enfield rifle no.4 mk1 in very good authentic condition. Very faintly marked No.4 MK.1 on the left side of the receiver and inspection stamped above the receiver, it has a partial date of 1945 on the buttsocket . This rifle has been rewooded into excellent condition authentic furniture, fitted with the late pattern ladder rear sights and brass butt plate. Very nice original blacked finish to the steel with just wear on the high points as expected from its service life. An unusual rifle, as the vaste majority of mk1 rifles were converted to the mk2 specification post-war, and designated mk1/2. It cocks and dry-fires, is fully strippable and comes complete with webbing sling. The inert .303 ammunition shown is not included, but is available in the 'Inert Ammunition' section at £1.50 per round, post free if ordered with the rifle. No4 'spike' bayonets also available from £15. Deactivated with certificate in the UK to UK specification.
