This is a double-barrelled hammer shotgun of side-by-side construction with under-lever breaking, made by James Woodward and Sons of London, as engraved between the two barrels and on the action sides. James Woodward traded with his two sons in London from the early 1870s, through the two world wars until being sold to Purdey's in 1948, showing the quality of the brand. In fact, some consider the Woodward superior to the Purdey shotgun. This Victoria-era gun has a lovely walnut stock in very good condition, engraved action with a pleasant patina of time, and similar look to the 29 1/2" damascus barrels. This shotgun is fully strippable, cocks and dry fires on both barrels, and comes with two inert 12g rounds. Deactivated in the UK with Certificate to full UK/EU specification.
