This is a double-barrelled hammer action shotgun of side-by-side construction and under-lever breaking, with full 30 inch Damascus barrels made by J.D.Dougall of Glasgow, as engraved on the top of the barrels and the action sides. Dougall traded from Gordon Street in Glasgow from 1850, and this example was probably made towards the end of the 1800's. In very nice condition, with cross-hatched hardwood buttstock and forestock, with a steel buttplate, lightly engraved metalwork showing a pleasant aged patina. This shotgun breaks, cocks and dry-fires with a precise action on both locks and can be fully stripped.  A fabulous addition to anybody's hunting lodge, mounted over the fireplace!
