This is a beautiful old hammer action sporting shotgun of side-by-side construction, made by James & Roberts of Birmingham, and probably dating to the late 1800s. Maker marked on the action sides, with the words 'The Leader' engraved between the two damascus steel 30 inch barrels. Classic lightly cross-hatched hardwood furniture with beautiful grain in very good condition. Lightly engraved action with an overall pleasant patina on the action and barrels. This shotgun breaks, cocks and dry-fires with a very positive action on both barrels, and can be fully stripped. Two inert 12 bore cartridges are included, with more available separately in the 'Inert Ammunition' section. Deactivated in the UK with Certificate to UK/EU specification.
