Deactivated Italian Vetterli-Vitali M1889 rifle, 1917 dated on stock

This is the Vetterli-Vitali model 1889 rifle, chambered for 6.5mm Carcano ammunition, which was a magazine-fed adaptation of the original single shot Vetterli M1870. The magazine feed designed by Vitali was originally for 10.35mm ammunition, but was redesigned for the more modern 6.5mm Carcano cartridge, and used by Italian support and colonial troops in WW1.  The furniture on this rifle is in very good condition, with matching serial number stamped on the butt, along with a partial cartouche and a date of 1917, probably for the date it was converted to 6.5mm calibre. The steel is also very good with most of it's original finish. This is a current EU spec deactivation, so will not dry-fire, but does have a moving bolt and trigger, and comes complete with original cleaning rod. The Carcano inert rounds are not included.  Deactivated in the UK with Certificate to UK/EU specification.

Our price: £495.00

All deactivated weapons sold by Jaybe Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold a London or Birmingham proof mark and certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly and is legal to own within the EU.
