Deactivated Italian Carcano M91/24 infantry carbine

This is the unusual Model 91/24 carbine developed originally by Salvatore Carcano in 1890 in Italy as the M1891 rifle, and produced from 1891 till 1945 in various forms.  In 1924 the Italians decided the long rifle had had it's day, so decided to shorten all their M1891 rifles, thus creating the M91/24. Further carbines followed as the M38 and M91/38 before another rifle emerged, the M91/41. Used by both German and Italian forces in WW2, this carbine is chambered for 7.92 x 57mm Mauser ammunition, and loaded via a 6-round 'en-bloc' clip. On this example, the original hardwood furniture is in very good authentic condition with just the odd knocks, matching serial number to the butt, and very good original blacking to the steel. This carbine will cock and dry-fire and fully strip, and comes with a leather sling.  Deactivated in the UK with Certificate to UK/EU specification.

Our price: £425.00
