Deactivated Italian Carcano M91 infantry rifle, 1916 dated **SOLD**
Deactivated Italian Carcano M91 infantry rifle, 1916 dated **SOLD**
This is the Model 91 rifle developed originally by Salvatore Carcano in 1890 in Italy, and produced from 1891 till 1945 in various forms. It was used by Italian forces during WW1 and both German and Italian forces in WW2, and the carbine variant gained infamy for being the weapon that was used to assassinate John F. Kennedy. Chambered for a 6.5mm round, and loaded via a 6-round 'en-bloc' clip, some weapons were produced in 7.35mm calibre to give better stopping power. On this example, the original hardwood furniture is in very good authentic condition with faint cartouche on the butt. The steel retains nearly all of it's blacked finish, and is marked Terni and dated 1916 on the octagonal receiver. Cocks and dry-fires and is fully strippable, and comes with leather sling and genuine cleaning-rod, but inert rounds are not included. Deactivated in the UK with Certificate to UK/EU specification.
