Deactivated Italian Carcano M1891 rifle, dated 1918, early spec

This is the Model 1891 rifle developed originally by Salvatore Carcano in 1890 in Italy, and produced from 1891 till 1945 in various forms.  It was used by Italian forces during WW1 and both German and Italian forces in WW2. Chambered for a 6.5mm round, it was loaded via a 6-round 'en-bloc' clip. On this example, the original hardwood stock is in very good authentic condition with matching serial number on the butt, although re-stamped, and showing a faint factory cartouche. The steel retains nearly all of it's original blacked finish, and is marked Terni and dated 1918 on the octagonal receiver. Able to be cocked and dry-fired and fully stripped, this rifle comes with original cleaning rod and a period leather sling, but inert ammunition shown is not included. Deactivated in the UK with proof-house certificate of deactivation.
