This is the standard german infantry rifle of WW2, full name the Mauser  'Karabiner 98 kurz', or K98k, (karabiner meaning carbine and kurz meaning short) having a shorter barrel than the earlier 'Gewehr 98'.  Stamped duv 42 on the breach area for Berlin-Lubecker Maschinenfabrik and production year of 1942, along with a number of good clear Nazi eagle stamps and Waffenamt stamps in various places. Very nice hardwood stock, and good blacking to the steel, complete with cleaning rod and sight hoodThis rifle is an early deactivation and has full working bolt action and can be stripped. One inert WW2 period 7.92mm round is included. Deactivated in the UK with proofhouse certificate of deactivation.
