Deactivated German Mauser K98 infantry rifle 1943 dated **SOLD**

This is the standard german infantry rifle of WW2, full name the Mauser 'Karabiner 98 kurz', or K98k,(karabiner meaning carbine and kurz meaning short) having a shorter barrel than the earlier 'Gewehr 98'.  Dated 43 with a manufacturer code of dou on the receiver, for Waffen-Werke, Brunn AG, this rifle is in very good clean condition. Good laminated stock with correct cupped steel buttplate and 'H' Heer stamp, excellent bluing to the steel and several clear Nazi eagles and Waffenamt stamp on the breech, and matching serial numbers to rear sights, bolt release and a close one on the magazine floorplate, which had more clear Waffenamt stamps.  This rifle can be cocked and dry fired, and is fully strippable, and comes with a good quality leather reproduction sling. The inert cartridges are not included with this rifle, but  are available in the 'Inert Ammunition' section at £1.50 each. A lovely example of this popular infantry rifle. Deactivated in the UK with Certificate to UK specification.
