Deactivated German Mauser K98 infantry rifle **SOLD**

Deactivated German Mauser K98 infantry rifle SOLD

This is the standard german infantry rifle of WW2, full name the Mauser 'Karabiner 98 kurz', or K98k,(karabiner meaning carbine and kurz meaning short) having a shorter barrel than the earlier 'Gewehr 98'. The date and manufacturer code have been polished off of the receiver, but there is still a slight trace of a Waffenamt stamp, as was not uncommon for the Russians to do to captured weapons, and the style of this rifle would make it a mid-war example. It is in very good clean condition with good laminated stock, a nice patina to the steel and a clear Nazi eagle and partial Waffenamt stamp remaining on the breech, with matching serial numbers to rear sights, bolt release and magazine cover plate. This rifle can be cocked and dry fired, and is fully strippable.The inert cartridges are not included with this rifle, but are available in the 'Inert Ammunition' section at £1.50 each. Deactivated in the UK with Certificate to UK specification.
