This is a very unusual 12 bore bolt-action shotgun, using the breech of a Mauser model 1871, and dated 1875 on the breech side. The breech area shows  similarity to the Steyr-Kropatschek M1886 which also drew inspiration from the M1871. Quality is typical of german weapons, with a very sturdy single-billet breech, mated up to a 31 inch barrel, lovely cross-hatched hardwood stock, though showing some cracks and easily repairable damage to rear of bolt, with steel butt-plate. An imposing and unusual hunting gun, the steel shows a pleasant patina of age with several military imperial stamps. Able to cock and dry-fire with a fully working action. Comes with a couple of inert 12g shells of your choice. Deactivated in the UK with Certificate to full UK/EU specification
