Deactivated Frederick Williams 12-bore boxlock shotgun **SOLD**
This is a 12-bore double-barrelled boxlock action shotgun of side-by-side construction made by Frederick Williams of London and Birmingham, as marked on the top of the full 30 inch barrels. A manufacturer of premium quality, handmade sporting guns since the early 1880s, he had premises in the heart of the Birmingham gun making district. This Victorian-era example is in very good condition, with very nice hardwood rear and forestock, lightly cross-hatched, but with a small triangular piece of finishing wood missing from the front of the handguard, easily replaced. Minimally engraved metalwork with a pleasant patina, and minor signs of corrosion on the blacked barrels. This shotgun breaks, cocks and dry-fires with a very precise action on both barrels with functional safety, and can be fully stripped. Two inert cartridges are included, with more available separately in the 'Inert Ammunition' section at £1.50 each. Deactivated in the UK with Certificate to UK/EU specification.
