Deactivated Enfield No2 Mk1* tankers revolver, 1943 dated SOLD

This is a 'spurless' 0.38" calibre Enfield No2 Mk 1* service revolver of the type that was issued to tank crews. The cocking extension, or spur, on the hammer was removed so it was less likely to snag on clothing in the close confines of an armoured vehicle, and for this modification a '*' was added to the mark number. Produced from 1923 till 1957, the mk 1 Enfield was one of the standard side-arms of the British and Commonwealth forces during WW2. Dated 1943 on the barrel, and FTR '52 on the frame (a 'factory thorough repair' in 1952), this particular example is a current spec deactivation, in very good condition, featuring lovely undamaged wooden hand grips, matching serial numbers to frame and chamber, and most of it's original finish. The inert rounds shown are not included but are available separately in the 'Inert Ammunition' section, post free if ordered together with this classic service revolver. Deactivated in the UK with Certificate to UK/EU specification.
