Deactivated World War 1 pistols
|
This is a Colt New Service double action revolver, chambering the .455 Eley cartridge. Manufactured from 1898 till 1941, it was used during WW1 as a substitute for the Webley .455 which were in short supply. Designated the 'Pistol, Colt, .455-inch 5.5-inch barrel Mk1' by the War Department, it was marked 'New Service .455 Eley' on the barrel to distinguish it form the US -issue .45 ACP models. In very good original condition, this revolver is marked on the barrel as described above, with WD inspection and broadarrow stamps on the frame. Very good grips and nice patina to the steelwork, this pistol is an early EU spec deactivation, so can be cocked and dry-fired but stripping is limited. One inert .455" round is included to display with this pistol. Deactivated in the UK with Certificate to UK/EU specification.
Our Price: £875.00 All deactivated weapons sold by Jaybe Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold a London or Birmingham proof mark and certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly and is legal within the UK/EU. |
