Deactivated Colt M1892 DA .38 revolver, old spec deactivation **SOLD**

This is a Colt Model 1892 double action revolver, chambering the .38" Long cartridge of the day. Designed in 1892, hence the name, this revolver was issued to the US Army and US Navy, but shortcomings resulted in a near year on year programme of improvements up until 1908 when production ceased in favour of a larger calibre weapon. The serial number of this example dates it to 1907/08, so one of the last, in 4 1/2 inch barrel form.  On entry to WW1, a shortage of side-arms saw surplus stocks of these revolvers being issued to officers. In good sound unrefurbished condition, this old spec deactivation (1992) allows inert rounds to be loaded and ejected from the chamber. Good undamaged grips, and nice patina to the steelwork. Cocks and dry-fires, and comes with 6 inert .38 'special' cartridges as shown. Deactivated in the UK with Certificate to UK specification at the time of original presentation.

Our Price: £450.00

All deactivated weapons sold by Jaybe Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold a London or Birmingham proof mark and certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly and is legal within the U.K.
