Deactivated Chinese Type 56 carbine, with underfolding bayonet, moving bolt

This is the Chinese made Type 56 carbine, a copy of the semi-automatic Russian SKS of 1945, chambering the same 7.62 x 39mm calibre round, as used in the Kalashnikov AK47. Introduced in 1956, as the name suggests, it was continually revised by the Chinese until it was removed from military service, except for a few used in ceremonial duties. Earlier examples had a blade-type under-folding bayonet, but the later ones like this example, had a cruciform bayonet. This paticular one is in good condition, with good wooden stock showing just a few battle scars, and most of blacking remaining on action. Bolt can be pulled back under spring pressure (pictures show screwdriver holding it open), and this rifle comes complete with cleaning-rod and leather sling and has all matched serial numbers. Loaded via a 10-round stripper clip into the magazine, an inert 7.62mm round is included to complete the experience! Deactivated in the UK with proofhouse certificate of deactivation.
