Deactivated Chinese Type 53, Mosin-Nagant M44 carbine, 1955 dated **SOLD**

This is a Chinese made copy of the Russian Mosin-Nagant M44 carbine. The model 1944 replaced the model 1938 in late 1944 and remained in service till 1955 in the Soviet Union, featuring unique for the time, a permanently attached side-folding cruciform bayonet. The Chinese need for a carbine for it's Peoples Army, saw Russia providing the technology and tooling to allow China to commence production in 1953, hence their model name of Type 53. Production is known to have continued to at least 1961. This example is dated 1955 and is in good sound authentic condition, nicely grained hardwood stock with only a few knocks and bruises, and excellent blacked finish to the steel, with all matching stamped serial numbers including the bolt .  A very nice authentic and inexpensive Cold-war era infantry carbine complete with cleaning-rod and correct sling and capable of being field stripped, cocked and dry-fired. Inert 7.62mm ammunition is not included but is available at £1.50 per round in the 'Inert Ammunition' section, post free if ordered with this rifle. Deactivated in the UK with Certificate to UK specification.

Our Price: £250.00
