This is a 12-bore double-barrelled boxlock action shotgun of side-by-side construction made by Christopher Hall of Market Street, Knaresborough, as marked on the top of the full 30 inch barrels, and on the action sides. This gunmaker traded from these premises from the 1890's till just before WW2, and this example dates from around the turn of the 19th century. It is in lovely condition, with classic cross-hatched hardwood rear and forestock, with just very minors knocks as would be expected on a Victorian-era shotgun. Delicately and extensively engraved metalwork, still retaining a lovely patina on the majority of the steel, including the barrels. This shotgun breaks, cocks and dry-fires with a very precise action on both barrels, and can be fully stripped. It would make a fabulous addition to anybody's hunting lodge, mounted over the fireplace! Two inert cartridges are included, with more available seperately in the 'Inert Ammunition' section at £1.50 each, post free if ordered with the shotgun. Deactivated in the UK with Certificate to UK specification.
